Third Annual Dinner was a Great Success!
We had approximately 80 attendees with representatives from the League of Women Voters, the Sierra Club, the Center for the Inland Bays, the Eden Corporation, the DE Nature Society, and the Surfriders.
VIP guests included Representative Ron Gray and his wife Candice. Senator Gerald Hocker and his wife Emily , DNREC Secretary DAVID SMALL and Sen. George Bunting (of IBF).
COLLIN O’Mara gave the keynote speech on environmental concerns which was overwhelmingly well received with the guests . Mr. O’Mara is Presidentv& CEO of the National Wildlife Federation and was accompanied by his wife, Krish, who assisted IBF with the distribution of door prizes.
Top IBF Environmental awards were given to three recipients . Last year’s award winner, Ken Kristl, gave the FIRST IBF award to DNREC Secretary, David Small. Former Sen.George Bunting made the next award to Gov. Elect John Carney (received by Collin O’Mara in Carney’s absences). Nancy Cabrera-Santos, IBF President and host for the evening delivered the night’s final award to DE Sen. Bryan Townsend . Receiving the award for Sen.Townsend was Brenna Goggin of the DE Nature Society
The dinner ended with a touch of fun. IBF board member, Frances Hart, organized a successful door prize serpent–a fitting culmination to a crowd pleasing event.
